Carbon capture and storage
Along with renewable energy resources, Carbon Abatement technologies will play a crucial role in fighting climate change. Among these, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is especially of high priority as at this moment there is no other alternative for managing carbon dioxide emission resulting from carbon based energy supply.
Considering the fact that the world’s need for energy, and therefore the use of fossil fuels resources is expected to grow in the future, no option for resolution should be ignored. As established by the Stern Review, new business associated with climate change offer great opportunities for those who act early and think long term.
The British Embassy in Budapest has organised two major events dealing with the technological, legal-regulatory and policy aspects of CCS in the course of May 2008.
