Press centre

The aim of the Public Diplomacy section is to provide the Hungarian press and the public in general with information about life, events and policies in Britain.

To achieve this:
  • we provide access to the most recent news stories (political, cultural and commercial) related to the UK;
  • we distribute background material. A wide range of interesting publications about the UK can be downloaded directly. All publications are in English;
  • we issue press releases about forthcoming events & visits, and on foreign policy issues.

Services for journalists

We help journalists who wish to research articles or stories about the UK. We can suggest suitable sources of information and recommend contacts in the UK.

We also
  • provide advice and guidance for journalists moving to the UK to work as foreign correspondents;
  • give general information to British journalists interested in covering stories about Hungary or television crews wanting to film in Hungary;
  • distribute texts of keynote speeches by Ministers and press releases on important events;
  • arrange press briefings and interviews with visiting British Government members and officials, and other leading personalities.

General enquiries

To help the general public to find information easily we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions.

If you cannot find the answer in the above sources you can contact us from Monday to Friday between 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00
